Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
Cream together the softened butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs and milk, mix until combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
In a bowl, mix together the sugar, cinnamon, and cardamom for the topping.
Pour half of the bread batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Sprinkle half of the sugar mixture over the batter.
Pour the remaining batter over the sugar mixture and spread evenly with a spatula.
Drizzle the melted butter over the batter.
Sprinkle the remaining sugar mixture over the top of the batter.
Using a knife, run it back and forth through the batter to swirl the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Bake the loaf for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove the bread from the oven, let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and cool on a wire rack.
Cool for at least 20 minutes. Serve warm with more butter and your favorite jam.
