  1. Step 1 – Prepare the Green Beans: Start by trimming the tips from both ends of the green beans, as this helps improve texture and presentation. Once trimmed, wash the beans thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt. Drain them well and set aside so they are ready for cooking.

  2. Step 2 – Heat the Oil and Garlic: Place a frying pan on medium heat and add the cooking oil. Once the oil is warm, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1–2 minutes. Stir continuously to release the aroma while making sure the garlic does not burn, as this can turn it bitter.

  3. Step 3 – Add the Green Beans: Add the cleaned green beans directly into the pan with the garlic and oil. Toss everything together so the beans are evenly coated. Keep the heat at medium to help maintain the beans’ bright green color and prevent them from becoming too soft.

  4. Step 4 – Season the Beans: Sprinkle in the all-purpose seasoning and black pepper, then add a small amount of soy sauce for extra depth of flavor. Mix everything well so the seasoning is evenly distributed without overpowering the natural taste of the green beans.

  5. Step 5 – Steam and Cook: Cover the pan with a lid and allow the beans to steam and cook for about 3–5 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking. The beans should become tender while still keeping a slight crispness and vibrant color.

  6. Step 6 – Finish and Serve: Once the green beans are cooked to your liking, give them a final toss in the pan. Remove from heat and, if desired, sprinkle red chili flakes on top for a bit of heat and added flavor. Serve immediately as a delicious and simple side dish.
