Malva Pudding - Classic South African Dessert

1 cup flour

1 cup sugar

1 tablespoon baking soda

1 egg

1-3 tablespoons apricot jam

1 tablespoon vinegar

1 tablespoon melted butter

1 cup milk (250ml)

½ cup cream

½ cup milk

1 cup sugar (250g)

½ cup hot water (125ml)

½ cup butter (125g)

Mix flour, sugar, and baking soda together
Add egg, apricot jam, vinegar, melted butter, and milk to the dry ingredients
Pour batter into a baking dish
Prepare the sauce by combining cream, milk, sugar, hot water, and butter
Pour the hot sauce over the pudding batter
Bake until the pudding is cooked through and the sauce is absorbed
