Mix the dry ingredients.
Add the beaten egg, melted butter and milk. Mix well.
Add the raisins.
Spread the mixture in a greased cake pan or spoon it into the cavity of the chicken.
Baste the chicken with melted butter and bake uncovered for about 2 hours at 375°F.
Check for doneness by ensuring the drumstick moves easily and the internal temperature reaches 180°F.
