Combine milk, sugar and yeast in a bowl. Cover and let sit until bubbly (5-10 minutes).
In a bowl or stand mixer, combine flour and salt.
Pour in yeast mixture and mix until combined.
Knead for 3-4 minutes.
Form dough into a ball and let it sit on a lightly floured surface covered with a towel for 10 minutes.
Brush the bottom of a 9 x 5 inch pan with half of the melted butter.
Form the dough into a rectangle the size of the pan and place into the pan.
Score the dough using a pizza cutter, knife or bench scraper to form four evenly sized breadsticks.
Cover with a towel and allow to rise 30-45 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine cheese and seasonings (Parmesan, basil, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder) in a small bowl.
Brush dough with remaining melted butter.
Sprinkle with seasoning mixture.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Remove and cool for 10 minutes and cut through the breadsticks again on the same cutting lines.
For dipping sauce: combine tomato sauce, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, basil and garlic powder in a small saucepan.
Heat dipping sauce over medium low heat and simmer for about 5 minutes.
Serve breadsticks warm with dipping sauce.
