Oklahoma Fried Onion Burger
  1. Start with great ground beef, making two 3-ounce balls.

  2. Season the beef balls with salt.

  3. Thinly slice sweet Vidalia onions using a deli slicer.

  4. Liberally add the sliced onions on top of the beef balls.

  5. Use a stiff spatula to smash the onions and beef, tapering the edges to get crispy edges and a moist center.

  6. Once liquid forms on top of the patties, flip them.

  7. Add American cheese on top of the patties.

  8. Place a Martin's Sandwich Potato Roll, bun-side down, on top of the cheese to let the beef steam soften and flavor the bun.

  9. Optionally, add pickles.
