In a heavy pot or Dutch oven fry the bacon until done.
Add the onions and cook over medium-high heat until golden.
Add the bell peppers and garlic and cook for another 2 minutes.
Add the beef and cook for a minute.
Stir in 4 tbsp sweet Hungarian paprika (and YES, that's TABLESPOONS 😃).
Remove from the heat (paprika gets bitter when fried).
Add tomatoes.
Add just a little water so that the water does not cover the meat.
Return the saucepan to the heat and bring to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for 90 minutes.
Bring to a boil over high heat then reduce heat so it's simmering rapidly.
Cook 15 minutes or until potatoes are very soft.
Add 50g / 3 tbsp unsalted butter and ½ cup (120 ml) warm whole milk.
