  1. Boil your potatoes and Swede together in well salted water till knife tender. Note - I tend to chop my Swede into slightly smaller chunks as they cook a little slower than the potatoes.

  2. Drain the water, season, add the butter and dripping and mash well together to your desired consistency.

  3. Stir through the chopped chives and serve, seasoned over the top with flakey salt and plenty of freshly ground black pepper - finish with an extra knob of butter to melt in and a wee sprinkle of chives.
