Directions
Wash & Prep: Scrub the sweet potato thoroughly under water. Pat dry with a towel. Poke holes in it with a fork (about 5–6 times) to let steam escape.
Microwave: Place the sweet potato on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave on high for 5 minutes.
Check & Finish Cooking: After 5 minutes, carefully squeeze (with a towel or oven mitt). If it’s still firm in the center, continue microwaving in 30–60 second intervals until tender. A medium sweet potato typically takes 5–8 minutes total depending on size and microwave strength.
Rest: Let it sit for 1–2 minutes. Then carefully slice open.
Serve: Add your choice of toppings like a dash of cinnamon, a sprinkle of salt, or a little butter or olive oil.
