Combine 4 cups of all purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of salt in a large bowl.
Pour one cup of very hot water into a measuring cup and half a cup of salted or unsalted butter sliced into quarter inch slices.
Once the butter softens and the water is cool enough to touch, add them to the bowl containing the flour.
Mix well, then gradually add a third of a cup of hot water, a little bit at a time.
Continue kneading for at least 10 more minutes or until the dough becomes smooth and is no longer sticking to your hands and cover with a clean kitchen towel for 10 minutes.
Light your flour a cookie sheet, then divide the dough into equal 1 inch rounds to keep them from drying up, cover them with a damp paper towel or kitchen towel and allow them to rest for 15 to 20 minutes.
Like you flowered your working surface and the rolling pin and roll the dough into an 8 to 10 inch round.
Place the tortilla on the preheated comal and cook for 12 to 15 seconds or until small bubbles begin to form.
Flip and cook for 30 to 40 seconds and using a spatula, very gently press down on the tortilla until it puffs up.
Repeat the process with the remainder Of the dough, place them in the plastic bag while they are still warm. This is gonna prevent them from hardening.
And refrigerate. Once they completely cool down, enjoy with your favorite recipes. Or enjoy with butter while they're still warm. And enjoy.
