Apple Crumble (single Serving)
  1. Chop one Jazz or Honeycrisp apple into small cubes. Add them to your ramekin or baking dish. Pour in 1 tablespoon melted butter, 1 tablespoon + 1 tsp raw sugar, ⅛ tsp cinnamon, and ½ tsp lemon juice. Mix until the apples are well coated.

  2. In a small bowl, mix 3 tbsp flour, 2 tbsp raw sugar, and ⅛ tsp cinnamon. Add 1.5 tbsp melted butter and mix gently with your hands until small clumps form. The texture should look slightly damp—like wet sand that sticks together but still crumbles.

  3. Spoon the crumble topping evenly over the apple mixture. Don’t worry if it doesn’t fully cover the apples—this is a lightly topped crumble.

  4. Bake in a toaster oven at 350°F for about 30-35 minutes. The crumble should be golden brown, and the edges should be bubbling. If it looks pale, let it go a few more minutes. If you are using a regular oven you may need to bake a little longer – around 35-40 minutes.

  5. Let it cool slightly before topping with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream or my rose saffron kulfi for a fun Desi twist.
