1. Add oil and ¼ stick of butter to the pan. Add garlic and saute until brown.

  2. Remove ¾ of the garlic and set aside.

  3. Add the chicken and onions, saute until skin is slightly brown.

  4. Add the soy sauce, magic sarap seasoning, and vinegar then leave the pot uncovered until the sauce boils. The pot must be uncovered so the vinegar cooks well.

  5. Once boiled, cover the pot and turn down the heat to medium heat.

  6. Add water (if saucy is preferred, add water until all chicken is almost covered), bay leaves, pepper, brown sugar, and 1 chicken bouillon cube.

  7. Simmer for 20-30 minutes.

  8. Add the fried garlic and turn down the heat to low for 5 minutes.
