One-pan Sun-dried Tomato Pesto Pasta With Italian Sausage And Peas
  1. Toast the California Walnuts in a dry pan for a couple of minutes.

  2. Brown the Italian sausage with some sun-dried tomato oil, then remove from the pan.

  3. Sauté the shallots with a pinch of salt until soft, then add the garlic and Calabrian chilies and cook for another minute.

  4. Deglaze the pan with white wine, scraping up any brown bits on the bottom.

  5. Pour in the chicken broth, season with a pinch of salt, and add the uncooked shellbow pasta. Simmer covered for 10-15 minutes, stirring frequently.

  6. Add the room temperature cream and the cooked sausage, and simmer for a couple of minutes to thicken.

  7. Stir in the sun-dried tomato walnut pesto, frozen peas, lemon zest, and Parmesan. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
