In a bowl combine the warm water, sugar, yeast, flour, salt, garlic powder, and vegetable oil.
Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
Cover and let rest for 20 minutes.
Divide the dough into 6 pieces and roll into breadsticks.
Place on a greased baking sheet and bake at 375 for about 20 minutes or until golden on the bottom.
Mix the melted butter, garlic powder, parsley, and pepper, then brush over the warm breadsticks and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
In a large pot heat the olive oil over medium heat and cook the sausage until browned and crumbled.
Add the onion and garlic and cook for a couple minutes until fragrant.
Sprinkle in the flour and stir until dissolved.
Add the chicken broth and potatoes and mix well.
Cover and bring to a simmer, cooking until the potatoes are tender.
Remove the lid and stir in the kale, heavy cream, Romano cheese, and pepper.
Mix until combined and serve with extra Romano on top.
