  1. Soak a kaiser roll in water until it softens, then squeeze out the excess moisture and crumble it into a large bowl.

  2. Combine the crumbled bread with ground beef, ground pork, finely chopped onion, fresh parsley, an egg, and optional Hungarian paprika.

  3. Season with salt and pepper, mix until well blended, and shape into flattened meatballs or patties.

  4. Fry the patties in a hot nonstick skillet for about 5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
