First, heat a bit of of oil (or vegetable broth for oil free cooking). Then add the onions and mushrooms and fry both for around 3 minutes.
Now it is time to give the beans, BBQ sauce, tomato sauce, mustard, and optional ingredients like liquid smoke, chili powder, and smoked tofu to the pot. And of course a pinch of salt and pepper.
Cook for around 10 minutes on medium heat. Finally serve in bowls and enjoy.
