Preheat oven to 180C. In a bowl, rub flour, cubed butter, and sugar together until crumbly. Spread on a tray and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until golden.
In a frying pan, melt butter and cook the chopped apples with sugar and cinnamon until soft and caramelised, about 8 minutes.
Allow both the crumble and apples to cool slightly before assembling.
To serve, place a scoop of vanilla ice cream in each dish, top with warm apples, and sprinkle over crumble topping.
Serve immediately while the contrast between hot and cold is perfect.
