Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Prepare the chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Coat with pesto: In a large bowl, toss the chicken breasts with the pesto sauce until they are fully coated.
Transfer to a baking dish: Lightly oil a baking dish with olive oil, and arrange the pesto-coated chicken breasts in a single layer.
Sprinkle Parmesan: Evenly sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top of each chicken breast.
Bake: Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the tops are golden and crispy.
Serve: Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes. Optionally, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the chicken and garnish with extra basil leaves.
