Yemeni Honeycomb Bread
  1. In a large bowl, add all the ingredients for the dough EXCEPT the butter.

  2. Mix all this together until a dough forms. Then mix in the softened butter and knead the dough for 10 minutes.

  3. Add this dough into a large lightly greased bowl, then cover and leave to rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.

  4. Get a 10 inch round tin or skillet. Lightly grease this, then leave it aside.

  5. Divide the dough into 20 g pieces. Get one of these pieces and flatten it out, then add a small dollop of the cream cheese to the centre. Roll this dough into a ball, making sure the cream cheese is fully sealed by the dough. Place this into your tin.

  6. Repeat this until you have used all of the dough.

  7. Cover these then leave in a warm place again, just for 30 minutes this time. We don't need them to double in size this time, they should just look puffier and feel softer after 30 minutes.

  8. About 10 minutes before you are ready to bake, pre-heat your oven to 180c.

  9. Once the dough balls have rested, lightly brush the tops of them with the beaten egg. Then sprinkle some black sesame seeds on top.

  10. Bake in your pre-heated oven for around 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

  11. Once they come out of the oven, drizzle as much honey and condensed milk as you want on top.

  12. Now the bread is done, serve whiles warm. Enjoy!
