Cut the fish into bite-sized or slightly larger pieces
Ensure frozen fish is completely thawed and dry
In a mortar, crush 7-8 garlic cloves, approximately 2 inches of ginger, and 4-5 green chilies until well crushed
In a separate bowl, combine gram flour, rice flour, corn flour, and all powdered spices
Add the ginger-garlic-chili paste to the flour mixture and squeeze lemon juice
Mix everything well, adding a splash of water if the batter seems too dry
Coat the fish pieces evenly with the batter mixture
Heat oil in a deep pan until hot
Reduce flame to medium-high and fry fish pieces for 5-6 minutes until golden brown and crispy
Remove fried fish and sprinkle red chili powder, chaat masala, and black salt on top
Serve with mint chutney or tamarind chutney
