One-pot Thai-style Rice With Pork & Green Beans
  1. In a large pot or deep skillet, brown the ground pork over medium-high heat, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.

  2. Add the garlic and shallot to the pot and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

  3. Stir in the water, soy sauce, and fish sauce. Bring to a boil.

  4. Add the jasmine rice, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18 minutes.

  5. Top the cooked rice with fresh green beans, cover, and steam for an additional 5 minutes or until the beans are crisp-tender.

  6. Stir in the fresh basil leaves.

  7. In a separate pan, fry the eggs to your desired doneness.

  8. Serve the one-pot Thai-style rice with a fried egg on top, if desired, and bird's eye chilis for added spice.
