Set oven to 350°F and prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan.
Mash ripe bananas in a medium bowl.
Add sugars, applesauce, water, and vinegar, stirring well.
Add flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt; mix until combined.
Add half the chocolate chips.
Pour batter into pan, top with remaining chips, bake 33–37 minutes.
Cool, slice, and enjoy.
