1953 Frosty Pineapple Pie
  1. Chill evaporated milk until soft crystals form around outside edges — 15 to 20 minutes. Do not freeze!

  2. Bring crushed pineapple to a boil.

  3. . Stir in sugar and 1 package lemon-flavored gelatin until dissolved. Cool until almost stiff.

  4. Whip 1 cup chilled evaporated milk with 1 tablespoon lemon juice until stiff peaks form.

  5. Add gelatin mixture and beat slowly with rotary beater or electric mixer at low speed.

  6. Pour into baked pie shell.

  7. Chill at least 1 hour or until set.
