  1. Mix the flour, yeast, salt, egg, milk, water, and olive oil in a bowl.

  2. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.

  3. Lightly grease a bowl, place the dough in it, cover, and let it rise for about an hour.

  4. Deflate the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.

  5. Gather the filling ingredients: cheese, tomatoes, garlic, and basil.

  6. Roll the dough into a large rectangle.

  7. Spread the filling ingredients over the dough.

  8. Roll the dough into a log and pinch the edges to seal.

  9. Cut the log lengthwise and form an 'S' shape.

  10. Cover and let rise until doubled in size.

  11. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

  12. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, tenting with foil after 25 to 30 minutes.
