Dissolve sugar in warm water. Add yeast and let it proof. Mix oil into the yeast mixture once it has proofed.
In a separate bowl, mix flour and salt.
Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture one cup at a time and stir/mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough for 3-5 minutes.
Place the dough in an oiled bowl, turning it over to coat both sides. Let it rise for one hour.
Punch down the dough, shape it into loaves, and place it into greased bread pans. Let it rise for 30-40 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for approximately 30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown. Brush the tops with butter while still warm.
