Preheat oven to 180C
Add 60ml (¼ cup) hot water with dates to a bowl and blend using a hand blender or food processor
Whisk in the eggs
Sieve the cocoa powder and baking powder into the bowl and fold in
Pour the mix into a 21-23cm (9 inch) square oven dish lined with baking paper
Add chocolate topping if desired
Bake in the centre of the oven for 17-20 minutes (approximately 19 minutes) depending on desired gooeyness
Store airtight at room temperature for 5-7 days, in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for later use
