Gingerbread Babies
  1. Sift first 6 ingredients into medium bowl.

  2. Using electric mixer, beat butter and sugar in large bowl until blended. Beat in egg. Add flour mixture and beat until moist clumps form.

  3. Gather dough into ball; divide into 2 pieces. Flatten dough into disks; wrap and chill at least 2 hours. Soften slightly before rolling.

  4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out dough on lightly floured surface to scant ¼-inch thickness. Using

  5. mini gingerbread-man cutter, cut out cookies. Bake on parchment-lined baking sheets until golden, about 8 minutes. Cool cookies on sheets.

  6. Decorate diapers using “hard frosting.”

This dough is actually speculaas from Holland, but I like the flavor much better than American gingerbread.
