Make the meatballs by combining the sausage (or mince), grated onion, egg, garlic, breadcrumbs and Parmesan.
Heat the olive oil in a large pan and cook the onions until soft.
Add the dried herbs, parsley, salt, pepper and garlic and cook for 1 minute.
Stir in the tomato paste and diced tomatoes, then the beef stock and sugar.
Bring to a simmer and add the meatballs, cooking for 20-25 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.
