Cream the sugar and butter together for about 3 minutes.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating each for about 30 seconds.
Add the heavy cream and beat slowly.
Sprinkle in the flour and vanilla extract, and whisk together.
Pour the filling into the unbaked pie shell.
Make a glaze with 2 Tbsp heavy cream and 3 Tbsp granulated sugar, and spread it around the edge of the pie crust.
Bake the pie at 375°F for about 45 minutes, covering the crust with a pie shield or foil if it starts to brown too quickly.
Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing and serving.
