Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
Spread the frozen blueberries evenly in the bottom of the dish. Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Drizzle water or lemon juice over the top (optional for added moisture).
Evenly sprinkle dry yellow cake mix over the blueberries. Do not stir.
Drizzle melted butter over the dry cake mix. Alternatively, cut cold butter into thin slices and distribute evenly.
Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
Let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
