Homemade Dog Pill Pockets
  1. Place the oats into a blender or food processor to grind them up fine.

  2. In a small bowl, combine the water, peanut butter and ground oats.

  3. Mix with a rubber spatula until completely combined. Towards the end of the mixing, I found it best to bring everything together by using my hands.

  4. Divide the dough into 12 small balls or 6 larger balls for capsule sized pill pockets. Scaled up recipe for “72 servings” makes 72 small pill pockets or 36 capsule sized pill pockets. For the capsule pill pockets about 10g dough should be the right size.

  5. Using the tip of a meat thermometer, or a toothpick, make a hole and wriggle the utensil around to enlarge the opening.

  6. Store in a plastic bag.

Notes: I will probably use rolled oats in the future as I do not use quick oats regularly otherwise. Rolled oats are 5.6g per tablespoon so using the 60g total weight for the original scales up recipe would likely provide a closer result than 12 Tablespoons of rolled oats.) Gram conversions via
