Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease an 8x4-inch loaf pan.
In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, five to seven minutes. Then, beat in the eggs, lemon zest and juice until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt. Next, alternate adding the flour mixture and the milk into the creamed mixture, combining after each addition.
Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan. Bake the bread until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 40 to 45 minutes. Cool the bread in its pan at room temperature for 15 minutes, then transfer the bread onto a wire rack.
In a small bowl, whisk together the confectioners’ sugar and lemon juice. Drizzle the glaze evenly on the top of the bread. Serve your slices while they’re still warm, although they can be served at room temperature too.
