  1. Place beef cubes in a plastic bag. Add a little flour and toss cubes in the bag till coated with a fine layer of flour.

  2. Brown meat in batches in a large pot, removing when golden.

  3. Then sauté onions and garlic in the same pot.

  4. Add meat to onions after a few minutes.

  5. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 2½ hours, stirring every 20 minutes, until meat is tender.

  6. Serve with steamed rice.
