Cookie Puff Pastry

  1. Break up the cookie dough inside 2 sheets of puff pastry.

  2. Optionally sprinkle the top layer with ground sugared nuts or honeyed seeds of choice.

  3. Use a pizza cutter to make long thin slices

  4. Roll each slice like a cinnamon bun

  5. Place it into a muffin tin.

  6. Brush it with egg wash

  7. bake until crisp and golden or as directed by package.

1 lb puff pastry

1 cup cookie dough of choice

1 egg

Instructions

Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface until it is ¼ inch thick.

Crumble the cookie dough over the puff pastry, gently pressing it into a thin, even layer across the entire sheet. Flour and roll out the second sheet of puff pastry until it is ¼ inch thick. Place it on top of the cookie dough layer.

with a pizza cutter, slice the layered pastry into 1-inch thick strips.

Roll each strip into a shape resembling a cinnamon roll and place them in a muffin tin.

Brush with egg wash.

Bake at 350°F for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
