  1. Place all ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved and the sauce begins to thicken, 10-15 minutes.

  3. Strain the garlic from the sauce and allow to cool. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.
