Preheat oven to 350°F.
Spread crushed pineapple, with juice in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly on top of the crushed pineapple.
Sprinkle brown sugar over the cake mix.
Melt 1 cup of butter and pour evenly over top.
Bake in 350°F oven for 50 to 55 minutes until light golden brown on top and bubbling at the edges with pineapple.
Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.
