Eve’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
  1. Beat butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and salt with a mixer until no flecks remain.

  2. Beat in eggs and vanilla until well blended.

  3. Add flour and baking soda.

  4. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.

  5. Shape into 1-1 ½ inch balls, cover and chill at least 6 hours.

  6. To bake: transfer cookie balls to a baking sheet about 2 ½ inches apart. Flatten slightly.

  7. Bake in a preheated 400 oven until cookies are golden brown around the edges and center 1 inch is still pale, 8-10 min.

  8. Cool slightly on the pan then carefully transfer to racks to finish cooling.
