Homemade Bagels
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together warm water, active dry yeast, and honey. Let it sit for 5 mins.

  2. Add in all purpose flour and salt. Mix together in a stand mixer using dough hook for 5-7 mins.

  3. Shape into a ball then place into greased bowl. Cover with towel and let rest for 60 mins.

  4. Preheat oven to 425°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

  5. Add water, baking soda, and honey to a large pot. Bring to a boil.

  6. Once dough is risen, cut into 8 pieces. Roll each piece into a ball, using your thumbs press a hole through the center, then stretch the hole out by twirling it around your fingers.

  7. Place four bagels in the boiling water for 30 seconds on each side.

  8. In a small bowl whisk together, one large egg and water. Brush egg wash on top of bagels.

  9. Bake for 20 to 25 mins.
