Instructions
In a large bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
Add olive oil, salt, and 2 ½ cups of flour. Mix until a rough dough forms.
Transfer to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes, adding the remaining ½ cup of flour gradually, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Step 2: First Rise (1.5-2 hours)
Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1.5-2 hours).
Step 3: Shape and Second Rise (45 minutes-1 hour)
Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf or individual rolls. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Cover and let it rise again for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until puffy.
Step 4: Make Garlic Butter & Bake (20-25 minutes)
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Mix softened butter with garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and optional Parmesan.
Brush half of the garlic butter over the risen dough.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
Step 5: Final Touch (5 minutes)
Immediately brush the warm bread with the remaining garlic butter.
Let cool slightly, slice, and enjoy!
