Bran Scones
  1. Place all the dry ingredients into a bowl then rub in your cold butter till it resembles breadcrumbs.

  2. Add a pinch of salt then pour in your whey or milk.

  3. Mix roughly in your bowl then tip out onto your surface and gently knead to bring it together.

  4. Press into a flattish round then transfer to a baking sheet.

  5. Cut into 4, leaving it together, then egg wash and bake in a preheated oven at 220c (fan oven) for 15 minutes till puffed up and golden.

  6. Move to a wire rack for a few minutes before breaking apart and adding your toppings.
