Gingerbread Oat Bread
  1. Mix the warm water with molasses and brown sugar

  2. Add the yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes

  3. In a bowl combine the flour, salt, ground oats, cinnamon, oil, and the yeast mixture

  4. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for 5 minutes

  5. Set aside to rise for 1 hour

  6. Lightly flatten the dough, fold it into thirds, then roll it up and place it in a greased loaf pan

  7. Let rise again for 30 minutes

  8. Preheat the oven to 400°F

  9. Brush the top with the egg, sprinkle oats, and bake for about 35 minutes or until golden

  10. Cool for 1 hour

  11. For the icing, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla

  12. Pour over the cooled bread and enjoy
