Gordon Ramsay's Pan-seared Salmon
  1. Let the salmon filets come to room temperature.

  2. Pat them dry, especially the skin, and score the salmon skin gently.

  3. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, and paprika, rubbing the seasoning into the slits.

  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the olive oil.

  5. Place the salmon filets in the skillet, skin side down, and press down with a spatula. Cook for 2 minutes.

  6. Carefully flip the salmon and cook for another 2 minutes.

  7. Flip again, reduce the heat to low, and add the butter, minced garlic, and thyme to the pan.

  8. Baste the salmon with the melted butter and garlic mixture for about 4 minutes, allowing the flavors to infuse.

  9. Remove from heat and zest with lemon zest. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the salmon and garnish with chopped parsley
