Begin by slicing half a stick of butter and spreading it evenly across the bottom of a large casserole dish.
Season the buttered base with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and garlic and herb seasoning.
Next, thinly slice the cabbage into very thin strips, break them apart, and layer them evenly over the seasoned butter.
Peel and mince about eight cloves of garlic, then sprinkle them evenly over the cabbage.
Slice the remaining half stick of butter and place it on top of the cabbage.
Season the top layer of butter with the same spices used on the bottom, adding red pepper flakes for extra heat.
Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for approximately 40 minutes.
After 40 minutes, remove the foil, stir the cabbage mixture thoroughly with tongs, and return it to the oven uncovered for an additional 10 to 15 minutes.
Before serving, grate fresh Parmesan cheese over the top.
