Viral Flying Dutchman Burger
  1. Slice the yellow onion into 4 large slices keeping the shape of the slices together

  2. Season the onion slices on both sides with salt and pepper

  3. Assemble the burger sauce by combining mayo, ketchup, yellow mustard, apple cider vinegar, relish, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper in a bowl and mix thoroughly until combined

  4. On a hot griddle over medium high heat, add the slices of onions and cook for 4-5 minutes each side until they have some char

  5. Add a splash of water then cover the onions and let them steam for 3-4 minutes

  6. Take ¼ pound burger balls and smash them down with a burger press or spatula to make thin patties

  7. Season the burger patties with burger seasoning

  8. Flip patties after 3-4 minutes then add a slice of American cheese

  9. Once the onions are soft, add 4 slices of mozzarella cheese directly on the griddle over medium heat

  10. Place each onion on a slice of the cheese and remove after 2 minutes once the cheese is toasted and golden brown

  11. Assemble burger with onion on the bottom, burger sauce, burger patties, more sauce and an onion on top
