Sausage, Egg, and Refried Beans Breakfast Burritos
  1. Brown the sausage with along with the onions and garlic. Mix in the refried beans toward the end.

  2. In a separate pan, cook the eggs, green chilies, salt and pepper.

  3. When the meat and eggs are cooked, mix them together in a large bowl and add the cheese.

  4. Use a large cookie scoop (about 1 cup) and put a scoop of the filling into each of the tortillas, roll them up and wrap in wax sheets.

  5. If these are going to be stored for more than 3-4 months, you may want to consider using freezer bags or vacuum sealed food saver bags

  6. When ready for heating, remove the wrapper and put them in the microwave for 2 ½ minutes. They are wonderful with your homemade salsa or hot sauce!

Use whole grain tortillas instead of regular tortillas for added fiber.

Incorporate more vegetables, such as spinach or bell peppers, into the filling for extra nutrients.

Opt for lean turkey sausage or plant-based sausage to reduce saturated fat.

Use low-fat cheese or reduce the amount of cheese to lower calorie content.

Serve with fresh salsa or avocado for healthy fats and additional flavor.
