Put all ingredients in beater bowl in order given and beat on low speed, scraping down sides of bowl, or by hand until smooth. Do not beat too long.
Butter a large 13x9 inch pan and pour in batter and push into corners and smooth top.
Bake at 350 F 30 minutes, no longer.
Notes: if you use a glass pan, bake at 325 F for 30 minutes.
Convection bake 325 F (metal pan) for 25 minutes
If desired when brownies are cool in pan they may be iced with chocolate frosting and sprinkled with chopped walnuts.
