Bake chocolate cake layers as directed above. Cool completely.
Make berry cream: Whip heavy cream and powdered sugar to soft peaks. In separate bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth, then fold in berry puree. Fold in whipped cream.
Make ganache: Heat cream, pour over chocolate, stir until smooth. Add butter. Cool slightly.
Assemble: Place one cake layer, spread with berry cream. Add second layer. Frost with remaining berry cream. Chill 30 minutes.
Pour ganache over top, allowing some drip. Decorate with fresh berries and chocolate shavings.
Chill before serving.
