Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Lightly grease a baking pan with butter to prevent sticking, then set it aside.
Place a sifter over a large bowl and add flour, salt, and cocoa powder. Sift them together to remove lumps and ensure the mixture is well-combined. Once done, set the dry ingredients aside.
In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and caster sugar until the mixture looks smooth and glossy.
Stir in the vanilla essence, then add the eggs one at a time. Whisk well after each addition to fully incorporate them into the mixture.
Gradually fold the sifted flour and cocoa mixture into the wet ingredients. Mix gently with a spatula or whisk until no streaks remain.
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 30–35 minutes. Check doneness with a toothpick inserted into the center-it should come out clean or with moist crumbs. Cool slightly, slice into squares, and serve with ice cream or a dusting of powdered sugar.
