Combine vodka, blackberry syrup, lemon juice and ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds until ice cold.
Strain through a Hawthorne and fine mesh tea strainer into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist or blackberry, as desired. Serve immediately. Cheers!
Gather, measure and prepare the Blackberry Syrup ingredients as listed. In a small saucepan, mash the blackberries using a muddler or fork. Add sugar and water and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to simmer for 5 minutes.
