Spiced Cranberry Paloma
  1. Bring water, brown sugar, fresh cranberries, fresh orange juice, cinnamon sticks, star anise, cloves, and orange zest to a boil

  2. Allow cranberries to burst on their own or use a muddler or potato masher to speed up the process

  3. Once sugar is dissolved and most berries have been juiced, strain the syrup

  4. Store spiced cranberry syrup in a sealed tight container and refrigerate for up to one month

  5. For batched palomas, stir together grapefruit juice, cranberry juice, lime juice, tequila, and spiced cranberry syrup

  6. Serve and enjoy

  7. Optional: top with squirt or grapefruit soda

  8. Garnish with cranberries, orange slices, and star anise
